This project could not have been completed without the contributions made by so many, family members, professional researchers, officers employed by authorities, as well as close friends of our family discovered to have cross-branch social connections.

Leonard being  Jack's first cousin. 

  • Gerrard Drew, Curator, & Historian, Williamstown Football Club for his assistance to review and validated the football playing records with the Williamstown Football Club's senior team in the then elite competition the Victorian Football Association (VFA) - pre formation of the VFL/AFL competition. Archie played for Williamstown Seagulls after crossing from North Melbourne Football Club for the start of season 1887 (1887-1890). Archie being the curator's grandfather.

  • Dr Mike Cronin, PhD, Professor, Academic Director, Sports and Sports Administration Studies, Boston College, Dublin for his referrals in regards to John Kidd Guest (1831-1871) involvement as a cricket and Irish folk football player, Templemore, County Tipperary 1844-1857.

  • Dr Patrick Bracken, PhD, Staff Officer at Tipperary County Council Library Service, recognised expert in the growth and development of sport in Templemore and County Tipperary since 1830. Pat stepped in to assist the present researcher to uncover fresh evidence of John Kidd Guest (1834-1871) and his father John Guest (1786-1864), husband of Elizabeth Guest (1793-1834) and other of his immediate family of Templemore as their lives related to the rise of organised cricket and Irish folk football in the town of Templemore and nearby Cloughjordan, County Tipperary.

  • Mike Hamblin's wonderful book, consulted extensively by his cousin by degree, the curator, John L.R. Guest, titled, “A Family History of Cornelia Creek Run and the Simmies.” Mike used his stories and images handed down by his mother Ailsa, and her mother Alice “Garm” Williams (nee Simmie), to confirm further his direct descent to the famous Simmie family, along middle brother of three, William Simmie 1825-1901 and Flora Simmie 1827-1897, nee Penny. 

  • Paternal first cousin, Raymond William Roberts (1943-), born Shipsides, later surnamed Raymond William Roberts (1943-) (Surname change, NZ BDM records, 1961), for the Guest family of Melbourne matrilineal family descended from the researcher’s Aunt Matilda “Tilly” Emma Guest (1918-1982).

  • The curator's first paternal cousins, Cliff Henry Guest (1945-), [II]; Malcolm “John” Guest (1949-2023) (recently dec) and Brett Guest (1971-) for an update of the Guest family of McEwan Road, West Heidelberg.

  • Jeanne Chippett, relative of James Allison Guest (1889-1963) and Lily Ernestine (Brierty) Guest (1892-1977) for a summary of her evidence-based trace of the matrilineal descending from James and Lily.

  • Andrew Egan (USA) for sharing DNA ethnicity and his traditional genealogical tracing results critically important for positive identification of the researcher’s 5th patrilineal great grandfather Thomas Guest (1701-bfr 1776) and wife Ann Guest (1711-bfr 1776) of Dublin.

  • Charles Kidd, formally of Scotland, now Australia for sharing records of his lineal descent tied to Elizabeth “Bessie” Guest (1793-1834) (nee Kidd) including shared DNA results with the researcher, a direct descendant of Elizabeth.

  • James Leyland Guest of USA for records reconciliation for the Guest family of Ontario Canada/Michigan USA, and additional confirming materials making him a DNA match with the researcher.

  • Captain Frank Guest (1948-), US Navy (Ret) for records reconciliation of the Guest Family of Washington, USA.

  • Ivor Guest (London) 4th Viscount of Wimborne (Guest of Wimborne, England) for confirmation of his bloodline and that of his closest branch the Guest Family of New York/Murat and their descent from John Guest of Handsworth Staffordshire and Northfield and Kings Norton, Worcestershire (Converging in more ancient times with the Tewkesbury stem the author enjoys with the two stems sprinting from the same Kings Norton, Worcestershire parent stock).

  • Tommy (Thomas) Guest of Melbourne (retired teacher) of the Guest of Melbourne Baker & Furniture Retailer Family, for his research collaboration and submission of genealogical and biographical evidence making certain his line is further descended from the same ancient parent stock as the researcher. Tommy and Patricia’s adoptive father most likely descends from the Handsworth stem, with further evidence of strong kinship ties along their patronymic stem to the Guest family of Tewkesbury despite migration to Australia and the passing of many centuries (middle name antecedents). Tommy is also the author, of “A Ringwood Childhood, A Ringwood State School Boy’s Story, The World of the 1940s & 1950s [Thomas J Guest).

  • Jeanette Ross of Canada for her circumspect evidence-based study of the Guest of St George, Bristol, England with probable future connections to known family members registered throughout this book.

  • Vicki Palmer (1963-) (nee Guest) for her contributions to reconciling the Guest-McArdle-McLean matrilineal  line.

  • Maternal uncle Kevin  Angus Frederick Hay (1935-2021) (dec) for historical insights  into the pioneer history of the Guest-Hay-McArdle-Orsino-Mirabella bloodline and biographical information.

  • Donald Holmes Gest (1964-) of California, USA for making available factual materials making his distant patrilineal ancestor who migrated aboard the Plymouth to Pennsylvania a descendant of the apex elder family of mid-west, medieval England to who the researcher also enjoys decent, and also tied to the Guest of Handsworth stem.

  • Dr Bruce Elliott, PhD, for tracing the Guest family’s genealogies, movements, landholding strategies, and economic lives amongst 775 families of Irish immigrants who came to Canada between 1815 and 1855. These Guest family members, by comparison to others found of the Guest of Handsworth stem, are relatively closely tied to the curator found on his Tewkesbury stem which migrated in 1663 to Dublin then Tipperary circa 1738-1750. all  from County Tipperary, Ireland. 

  • Dr Dan Beaver, PhD, Associate Professor in History and English at Penn State College of the Liberal Arts for his research into Giles Geast (Gyles Guest -1557) of Tewkesbury, England (Progenitor of the Tewkesbury Stem, England and late of Ireland/Canada-USA/Australia-NZ]).

  • John Dixon, President, Tewkesbury Historical Society for reviewing the Guest Paternal Trace, and liaison with the Tewkesbury Museum Library, as well wading through book 1 to confirm matters related and tied to progenitor of the Tewksbury Stem, Gyles Guest (Giles Geast). John has further authored wonderful informative articles about Gyles via the THS and secured historical plaques.
